Many sites have free traffic exchange and click-through surfing programs that will provide you with a substantial amount of free traffic. Sign up for as many of these as possible and test them out. You probably should have at least a half dozen different programs to gain a huge amount of traffic in a very short period of time. Here are some that we have tried and like:

Traffic Swarm - One of the fastest ways to pick up display credits. You randomly receive from 1- 5 credits each time you view another site. A very nice and fast way to gain credits.
Paid Visitors - We just signed up for this and are testing it. Sites are able to earn money and credits from this one. We will review it in near the future and let you know our opinion.
Hit Pulse - You may set up your browsers main page to this site and gain credits every time you open your browser, use their surfing page, and/or refer others to gain hits.
Lemming Run - Promises visitors to your site. Uses a console to display ads for you to view. Earn credits for your site, with free sign-up bonuses - credits, money and banners.

Surf the internet using their console or from your start page if you choose and earn credits. These credits turn into displays of your site and a huge number of visitors. If you don't get visitors to your site you won't sell and if you don't have a high volume of hits your site will not rank very high. So this is a great initial solution!
